Kuala Lumpur, 11 June – HELP University (HU) held a talk yesterday on “Parenting Teenagers: Values and Dignity”. This talk took place from 7.00pm – 8.30pm at HU ELM Business School and was delivered by Professor Dr. Eva Latham from the Netherlands.
Professor Dr. Eva Latham is the CEO of the Institute of Contemporary Studies. She is also the founder and president of the Human Rights Teaching International in the Netherlands. She serves on the board of multiple organizations, promoting human rights and human dignity.
The objectives of this particular talk on “Parenting Teenagers: Values and Dignity” was simply to raise teenagers to become principal-centered young adults. Here, Professor Dr. Eva Latham spoke about the parenting skills required to understand these teenagers. Another objective was to create a platform for parents to understand their children and vice versa. It is very important for parents to bridge the generation gap with their children as it will create a better and more harmonious relationship at home.
Participants were very happy with this speech. One of the participants said, “I enjoyed Dr. Eva’s talk. It was light and relaxing to listen and be validated by a person who has such vast knowledge about respecting the dignity of young people. Thank you HU for this opportunity”. Another participant said, “It was an insightful talk by Dr. Eva. She has unveiled certain issues which parents fail to realize in this current era. Many parents would have a clearer perspective towards a child’s behavior now.”
