Students attending seminar organized by HELP University

HELP University organized a seminar, 10 Keys to 10 A’s Seminar-Inside Out: The Making of Me for secondary school, Form 5 students in Malaysia. This seminar was held on the 9th of May, 2015, from 8.00am to 1.00pm at HELP University, ELM Business School, Auditorium 1, Level 7. This seminar is aimed towards students who are developing key aspects of their individual identities.
This seminar was conducted by senior lecturers from the psychology department: Alex Lui Ah Lieh, Synede Lim Cheng Choo and James Yeow Lai Hock and by the head of the CareerSense Department, Eric Bryan Amaladas. These personnel very often work with the younger generation as they have a rather wide viewpoint on current and global issues along with being very approachable and motivational. They are also very reputable people that have carried out various seminars, which include seminars for Non-Profit Organizations (NGO).
Session one which was carried out by Eric Bryan Amaladas and Sydnede Lim Cheng Choo introduced the concept of personal branding. Here students had an opportunity to explore and discover how others view them, how they view themselves, and how they want others to view them.
Session two on the other hand was conducted by James Yeow Lai Hock. Here he explained the concept of personal leadership. Students learned about emotional intelligence and how they can be in control of their own destiny instead of letting situations mimic their every move. Students were also taught skills to manage their emotions, thoughts and behavior. Mr. James used a very interactive manner is carrying out his talk by using music to relax the students. He played the piano while singing to the students.
There was another sub-session which was carried out to inform students about the programs offered in HELP University which was carried out by Alex Lui Ah Lieh. This Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) session managed to highlight the benefits of studying and facilities available in HELP University.
Organizer for this seminar, Wong Poh Ern said that this seminar was very successful as the students were very interactive and very excited about the talks. “I feel that this seminar was excellent as it managed to bring out many students true potential. Seeing them opening-up after the talks was very delightful”, she said.
Overall, this seminar was very successful. We will definitely be carrying out more seminars to help future students become achievers.
