On 8 August 2017, HELP University’s Student Council Members, SASA scholars, and students from the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accounting attended the flag raising ceremony at the 50th ASEAN Anniversary organised by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). The Minister of MITI, YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, acknowledged HELP University’s presence during his speech, and he also mentioned Rimmon Ngo Anak Impak, our SRC President who also attended the event.
The 50th Anniversary of ASEAN Flag Raising Ceremony marked a significant milestone for the regional bloc as it was attended by around 200 officials from MITI and its Agencies at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry compound. The ceremony commenced with the Malaysian national anthem, followed by the ASEAN anthem and the raising of the ASEAN flag. The Minister also signed an ASEAN@50 commemorative plaque during the MITI monthly assembly to record the golden occasion.
