KUALA LUMPUR, 5 Aug 2015 – HELP University held a graduation workshop at HELP University, ELM Business School on Saturday, 1 Aug 2015, from 10.30am to 2.30pm. The theme of this workshop was, “Career Decision Making”. This workshop was delivered by Director of CareerSense, Mr. Eric Bryan and was carried out for Middle Eastern students who completed the English Made Simple (EMS) course.
Overall there were 50 students from the English Made Simple (EMS) Language Centre from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Jordan at this workshop. They learned a lot and were thrilled to have an intellectual and experienced speaker, Mr. Eric Bryan. Mr. Eric Bryan has been actively involved in the development and delivery of youth and adult learning and leadership development programs. He has served as a consultant and a trainer to many organizations including Bank Negara and Maxis.
Mr. Eric Bryan explained how the students themselves are the career decision-making process. He explained that the decision-making process can be used for making many types of career-related choices, including which educational program to pursue, which occupational field to enter, knowing the motivational factors of selecting a particular career and whether or not it is feasible to start-up a new business in the future.
The career decision-making process can be explained in five very simple steps; namely: creating a vision, making an initial decision, setting a goal, developing an action plan and taking action. With these five steps, students will be able to select the best career for themselves.
HELP University will continue carrying out seminars and talks as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It is important that students attend these talks and seminars for personal growth and development.
