Karen is currently doing the American Degree Program (ADP) at HELP University (HU) and just got accepted into the University of Waterloo, Canada to do her Bachelors in Statistics and Actuarial Science. Here is what he had to say about HELP University:
“Hello my name is Karen. Initially I picked HELP University on my cousin’s recommendation. Being born in a small town and then moving to the capital city of Indonesia has really made me believe that anything is possible and no ambition is out of reach. Since I was a kid, I’ve always had big dreams. With the help of HELP University, I have decided that I want to specialize in mathematics, or more specifically, Actuarial Science.
HELP University was the best choice for me, as they cooperate with one of the best universities for this major, which is University of Waterloo. This means that all my credits will be transferable. So far things are going as planned, and I’ll be transferring in a few months. I have been very satisfied with my experience in HELP and am very thankful for their generosity in helping me get closer to my dreams.
As an international student, I feel like HELP University was the best choice as I feel like I am at home. HELP University is one of the universities in Malaysia with the largest number of international students. In my personal experience, I have come to realize that the administrative and teaching staff are highly experienced. Moreover, I love that the location of HELP campuses are so strategic to get to know Kuala Lumpur, which I think is one of the best cities I’ve ever been in.
I am very fortunate because in the year that I applied to study in HELP, a new scholarship program was implemented for the first time, and I was lucky enough to be included in the first batch. The idea behind this program is that high achievers should be more than excellent academically, but should have other values such as cooperation, innovation, creativity, responsibility, and openness to unfamiliar situations. All of these are not skills that someone is born with, but it can be trained; which is why they had a vision of breeding high quality, dependable individuals out of this batch of students. I do feel that HELP University trains their students to have these values.
I am very lucky to be a part of this organization; thank you HELP University for this opportunity.“
