Kuala Lumpur , 3 Sept 2015 – On 15 Aug 2015, HELP University’s Psychology Department held the HELP Psychology Challenge 2015 at HELP University. The aim of this challenge was to expose young minds to Psychology and to nurture awareness among the general public.
HELP Psychology Challenge was open to Form 3, Form 4, Form 5 and Form 6 students; and international students in Year 8, Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11. These students answered a few short questions and wrote an essay on “How can Psychology help Malaysians in times of crisis such as the disappearance of MH 370 and East Coast floods?”
Students were invited to a 3 hour Psychology lecture by HELP’s Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Behavioral Sciences, Dr Goh Chee Leong; after which, they participated in a live game show-like quiz round where they were required to answer questions based on the lecture they attended. Their scores were tabulated as the rounds progressed.
The winner for this competition was Sia Lee Gee-Ei from SMK USJ 13. The first runner up was Chen Wei Shan from Methodist Boys’ Secondary School Kuala Lumpur and the second runner up was Jared Kok Chee Chiew from SMK Bandar Utama Damansara 3.
