Students and staff at HELP attending the ‘Fighting Poverty through Enterprise’ talk

KUALA LUMPUR, 15 July 2015 – HELP University organized a talk: ‘Fighting Poverty through Enterprise’ on 14 July 2015 from 7pm – 8pm at HELP University, ELM Business School. This talk was delivered by Dato’ Dr Kim Tan who is a successful biotech entrepreneur. He spoke about creating wealth through sustainable businesses to change society. In this talk, Dato’ Dr Kim Tan shared his experiences in creating sustainable businesses to assist disadvantaged groups in different countries. This talk was attended by students and staff at HELP.
From Dato’ Dr Kim Tan’s talk, attendees also got to understand why people such as Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg invested into Kenya’s Bridge Academies started by Novastar Venture, of which Dato’ Dr Kim Tan is a partner.
Chairman of SpringHill, Dato’ Dr Kim Tan is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (UK). He is also a board member of the University of Surrey (UK) and has run various Masters classes for MBA students at SAID Business School (Oxford), Cambridge, INSEAD, IESE Business School, Surrey University, Pontificial University and Action Institute. With his experience and extensive knowledge in the field, HELP University was honoured and proud to welcome this biotech maven to deliver his talk.
