Dato’ Akhbar Satar, Director of the Institute of Crime and Criminology (ICC) at HELP University recently launched a book titled ‘Rasuah, Jenayah dan Malaysia’ (Corruption, Crime and Malaysia) at the ELM Business School. The book launch was officiated by the Honourable Guest YBhg. Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Senior Vice-Chairman of the Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF).
“The publication of this book is an effort to compile my writings that were featured in the column section of Berita Harian (BH). All the articles are closely related to the issues of corruption, integrity and crime in Malaysia,” said Dato’ Akhbar.
Dato’ Akhbar had compiled 57 of his best articles to be featured in the book, along with numerous statistics and information on contemporary issues. The book also suggested several methods to overcome the issues of crime, integrity and corruption in Malaysia, as well as ways to improve the services of enforcement agencies such as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), National Audit Department and Royal Malaysia Police (RMP).
“I am positive that this book will benefit researchers who are studying the causes of crime such as corruption, integrity offenses and cybercrimes that threaten the future of the nation. The book not only serves as a reference to the readers on issues of crime and corruption but it also aims to create a society that is intellectual, knowledgeable and possesses high integrity,” said Dato’ Akhbar.
Dato’ Akhbar also hoped that his book will become the catalyst to encourage more public discussion on the issues of crime, corruption and integrity in Malaysia. The massive 198-page tome is available for RM18 per copy and can be purchased from akhbarassociates.com or at 03-62061296 or 0172506011.
