HELP University’s Department of Accounting and Finance recently hosted the Accounting Quiz Competition 2016 at ELM Business School, HELP University on 23, July 2016.The objective of the competition was to provide students with the opportunity to build and test their analytical skills and levels of competency in accounting, business and general knowledge.
The competition was open to Form 5 and Form 6 students from local secondary schools, Chinese secondary schools, as well as those who are taking the Malaysian Chinese Secondary Schools Unified Examination (UEC). There were three rounds of quizzes and the winning team was determined through a process of elimination. The competitors were tested in three key areas: accounting, commercial and business, and general knowledge.
At the end of the competition, Chong Hwa Independent High School (Team 1), was crowned champions of the event. Their victory was flanked by a fellow team from the same school, followed by the second runner-up, Team 1 from SMJK Katholik. Each member of the winning team was presented a trophy, RM2,000 worth in cash prizes and a 50% yearly scholarship from HELP for diploma and degree programmes.
Established in 1986, the Faculty of Business, Economics and Accounting is one of the oldest and largest academic faculties in HELP University. The faculty is well-known for its academic excellence, depth of programmes, recognition from world-class universities and tight links with the industry.
